Approach to Sustainability
Basic Policy
NHK Spring is committed to contributing to the realization of a sustainable society and resolution of social issues by continuing to provide "indispensable key parts".
Moreover, concerning the NHK Spring Group's legal, ethical and social responsibility, in 2016 we established our "Basic Global CSR Policy", under which we declared the following five principles:

and we strive to enhance our corporate governance and comply thoroughly with laws and regulations.
NHK Spring aims to continue being a trustworthy Company by strengthening the competitiveness and management base in our core businesses, increasing our corporate value, and returning the fruits of our efforts to our respective stakeholders.
Sustainability Promotion Structure
In April 2024, we established the Sustainability Promotion Committee. Depending on the content, important matters related to promoting sustainability management are discussed and deliberated in the Sustainability Promotion Committee, the Management Committee, and the Board of Directors, with final decisions on key matters made by the Board of Directors.

Purpose of the Sustainability Promotion Committee
This committee is intended to contribute to the medium- to long-term enhancement of corporate value for the NHK Spring Group by promoting sustainability initiatives across the organization. These efforts are undertaken based on sound management judgment, while ensuring disclosure, communication, and penetration of sustainability initiatives among all employees and stakeholders.

・Collection, sharing and discussion of internal and external information related to sustainability
Members of the Sustainability Promotion Committee
The Committee is made up of the Chairperson, who is the Executive Vice President and Representative Member of the Board, the Vice-Chairpersons, who are the Executive Vice President and Representative Member of the Board (CQO, CTO) and the President of the Corporate Planning and Control Division (CFO), and the Standing Committee Members, who are the department directors in each related field.

・Review of the Company's significance of existence and long-term vision
・Clarification of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
・Advancing of governance and risk management
・Promotion of measures that lead to stakeholder engagement
Linking of the Sustainability Promotion Committee with Management
This committee meets four times a year, and the content discussed at the committee meetings is reported to the Management Committee and Board of Directors as necessary.
Linking of the Sustainability Promotion Committee with Related Departments and Subcommittees
The content discussed by this committee is further discussed by the subcommittees (cross-departmental) or the departments in charge of each area before specific measures are formulated and implemented.
