Waterproof theory

Brief description of contact angles

The difficulty for the material to become wet in water can be represented by the contact angle.
Hydrophobic material repels water when the contact angle is at least 90 degrees.

Brief description of the reverse capillary effect

Capillaries composed of hydrophilic material suctions water.
Capillaries composed of hydrophobic material pushes water out.

This is a highly functional, thin polyurethane sheet.

Insuron

This a water expansion type of open-celled polyurethane sheet formed using special production techniques.

Features

Excellent conformability to assembled or uneven surfaces significantly increases ability to apply paste due to improved flexibility and lightweight properties as compared to conventional products (butyl rubber and water expansion rubber).
Low temperature dependence eliminates concern about hardening or sagging.
