Through its subsidiary in Thailand, the Company has undertaken a reforestation program and prides itself of wide-ranging environmental initiatives. The Company's main spring manufacturing plant in Yokohama was the first in the industry to receive ISO 14001 certification in January 1997. By April 2001, all 11 of NHK Spring's plants had acquired accreditation. As a good global corporate citizen,the Company consistently strives to participate in environmental protection activities through every facet of its operations from product design through manufacture and waste disposal.
