Lightweight
Access speed is especially important in the Server segment. In order to reduce seek time, reducing suspension weight is essential.

High T1

Rotational speeds and track density are advancing to facilitate the increase in areal density and capacity growth. Track widths are therefore getting increasingly narrow which in turn results in vibrations at higher frequencies. Positioning the head then at the center of the track requires high positioning accuracy and the ability to control the higher resonance frequencies (especially T1 mode).

High B1

Shock resistance is usually reserved for the Mobile segment but also plays an important role in the Server segment. Shock resistance is needed when the head is standing by above the disk when inactive.

The B1 frequency, which wholly depends on the suspension fs stiffness and weight, is raised to strengthen the shock measures.
