To supply the highest
suspension quality that satisfies and exceeds
our customers
expectations and wins their confidence.

| 1. No.1 in Customer Satisfaction |
| 2. Zero critical claims |
| 3. Reduction in general claims by 1/3
each year |
|
1. DDS QA System Outline
|
- By consolidating quality information
from material incoming to product outgoing
applying
MES (Manufacturing Execution System), POP (Point
of Production= Production control system)
and
our QIS (quality information system), we can
analyze and study quality in real time.
- Quality and production control information
can be utilized as a consolidated system.
Thus,
we can search out root causes immediately by
linking to production control information
such
as production date, equipment, quantity and
material.
|

|
2. SPC (Static Process Control)
|
SPC is one method employed
to maintain product quality at certain levels
by continuously controlling (dispersion, average)
quality information. NHK applies SPC control
inside suspension processes.
- To sustain stable quality by applying SPC
control.
- SPC control is fully supported by the general
rule called "Western Electric Rules" ,which
consists of 8 rules that are divided
by measurement topic.
|

|
- SPC control charts can be
drawn up automatically by our QIS. Whenever
a problem arises, it automatically tells us
what is occurring outside of the rules. By
utilizing
this system, we can take action and carry out
countermeasures for out-of-spec issues speedily
and provide real time quality control. When
something goes wrong in the manufacturing
process
the operators can use the OCAP process to
identify and take corrective action in a timely
manner.

3. D-Web 2000
|
D-Web is our new system which
can disclose out-going data and QA process
data to customers via an online browser.
- NHK customers are assigned an ID and password
- Data cannot be accessed without an ID and
password (secure server and site)
- QA data can be reviewed online by the customer
- Updated data can be viewed online by accessing
the NHK database directly
- In addition to inspection data, transition
charts and histograms can be viewed
- The system was implemented in Sept. 2003
- The following charts are available;
Inspection data, X-bar charts, X-bar charts
w/o R, X-median charts,
X-R charts, Multivariable histograms, Histograms
by lot, Histograms by samples,
SPC charts
