NHK's Suspension business was originally a part of our Precision Spring & Components Division. However, foreseeing the future direction of this industry and the dedication it would take to become the industry leader. In the year 2000 NHK created a new and independent division called DDS or Disk Drive Suspensions. The creation of DDS was made to show our commitment to the industry and provide the necessary resources to realize our mission.

Being able to respond to trends in the HDD world is key to our business. DDS is therefore continuously researching and developing new technologies that will reshape and advance the industry. One such example of this is our original FUMA Suspension design which today is widely adopted and used in most Suspension designs. In addition, we boast ultra-modern manufacturing facilities that can meet the high demands in quality, volume and quick delivery that this highly competitive industry demands of our customers. We are also responding to persistent demands for cost reductions by seeking increased efficiency and rationalization from ourselves and our material suppliers.

As the technology and applications for HDD drives continue to evolve and diversify, DDS will continue to foresee and lead the Suspension industry. NHK will continuously develop new platforms and technologies that will match varying needs and be able to provide Suspension on-time to meet customer and market demands.
